Mini Bio

Jake Gyllenhaal was born Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal on December the nineteenth in 1980...in California. Which makes him 22 years old this year. Currently, Jake is attending Columbia University; he graduated from Havard Westlake, a private high school in 1998. His family includes: mother: Naomi Foner; father: Stephen Gyllenhaal; older sister: Maggie Gyllenhaal. His sister is an actress and you might know her from 40 Days and 40 Nights as Sam. His father is a director and his mother is a screenwriter and producer so it’s quite the ‘star filled’ family.

Jake is most known for his starring role in the comedy, Bubble Boy. His largest film (boxoffice wise) was October Sky which was based on a true story. He has worked opposite the likes of Drew Barrymore and Noah Wiley in Donnie Darko, an independent film. As well as working with Jennifer Anniston in “The Good Girl” also an independent film.

In 2002, he was named one of Teen People’s 21 Hottest Stars Under 21.
