Chapter 11 : Presentation

“What’s wrong?” She asked. Something was wrong. She knew it.

                “Nothing. Everything’s cool.”

“Obviously not, MY Spike would NEVER say ‘cool’. Now tell me what’s wrong?”

He didn’t want to get into it, but he couldn’t lie to her either. “There was a price for the asylum.”

“You mean my having sex with her wasn’t high enough?”

                “Faith...”

                “What was it?”

                “You.”

                “WHAT?”

“She wanted Rights to you and I *had* to give them to keep you safe. She said there were hunters coming for you and unless she had a vested interest in protecting you, you’d probably die.”

“So what does that mean exactly? ‘Rights’, what is that?”

“It means that when she deems it appropriate, she will embrace you.”

                “Embrace? As in turn me?”

                “Yes.”

“But, you... I can’t do this... I can’t be here anymore.” She tried to get up but he pulled her back down.

“Why do you always try and run Luv?”

“I can’t do this. I can’t sit around waiting to die so I can have protection from people who are going to kill me. How is that a better option? Did you ever think to consult me?”

“Faith, listen to me, you told her you accepted me as your mate, which means that until such a time when you’re a vampire, I speak on your behalf to the vampire community and I accepted. I had to. I can’t lose you. I told you I wouldn’t.”

“So I’m not yours anymore anyway.”

                “There’s more.”

“More what?” She asked scared to hear any more.

“Since she now has Rights to you, if she wants you there, you have to be there.”

“Even if it’s against my will?”

“You don’t have a will Bunny.”

“And this is what you want for me?”

“I want you to live. I don’t want some human killing you. She can protect you.”

“Did you do this for me or for yourself? You needed protection from other vamps. How much of this is for me?” She sat up.

                “Don’t get that way Faith.”

“Why not Spike? Afraid I’ll kno-” she stopped midsentence. “I’m sorry. I’m scared.”

                “Me too Luv. Me too.”

*************

                “What should I wear?”

“Whatever, we vamps aren’t too particular.”

“I don’t even see why we are going back. We could just leave the country and never come back.”

“Funny thing about hunters is that they chase you though.” He sat on the bed watching her pick out a pair of jeans and tube top.

“So we find out who they are and get them first. You drink and rip intestines out and I watch. Afterwards, we’ll fuck and then leave them behind. Problem solved.”

“It’s not that simple. We can’t outrun this, not now. She’ll always find us Luv. She’s got family all over the world, London, Paris, Madrid, Venice, Prague... you can’t outrun them.”

“So you are basically telling me that I’m going to die pretty soon either by hunters or vampires. And not only that but there’s no way out short of committing suicide right now?”

                “Don’t.”

“Why not? Save myself the hassle of running or having to be someone I don’t wanna be with.”

“Because I love you. You can’t leave me.”

“That’s not something you get to decide, neither does she.”

*************

“So glad you came my dear.”

“I would say I’m happy to be here, but I’m not.” She said to Raven who was sitting in a chair, or a thrown, depending on how you thought about it.

                “Watch your tongue girl.”

“Why should I? We got what we wanted, you got what you want.”

                “Not quite my darling.”

“I’m not nor will I ever be your ‘darling’ so save it for someone who gives a fuck.” Spike immediately looked at Raven’s reaction to this new attitude of Faith’s.

Raven stood up and before Faith knew, she was pinned up against the wall behind her, with Raven pressing into her. “You’d better learn quickly to respect me girl, or you will find yourself William-less very soon, sooner than I’d planned.”

Faith flinched, trying not to show her weakness. She couldn’t show her weakness. “No one is the boss of me lady. You think you want me around for eternity? Be my guest, but I won’t roll over and play lap dog to you.”

Raven let her go and walked to the top of the stairs. “We’re almost ready. You’d better not make a spectacle Faith, or you’ll be exterminated, asylum or not. Understand?” Faith nodded. “Good.”

As they waited for the preparations to be finished, he sat watching Faith stare at the floor. He already regretted his decision. He had no right to decide what was best for her and he certainly didn’t want someone else to sire her, if it was to happen. He missed what it had been like before when they had first met. He missed being evil and playing and fucking before everything got so complicated. Why had he ever thought about coming to Raven?

*Because you’re stupid mate. That’s why.* But that wasn’t the reason. He wanted to reclaim his status as a master vampire. What happened with the Initiative had been an embarassment and he wanted to rectify it. He shouldn’t have involved Faith. But he wanted her at his side when he had his own clan. *Just had to go and fall for a slayer!* Things were too complicated these days.

                “Mistress Raven?”

“What?” Raven asked of the minion.

“We’re ready. All the guests have arrived.”

“Wonderful. Let’s begin.” She stood up and Spike grabbed her arm.

                “Let’s talk first.”

                “Talk?”

“Please, I beg you...” he pleaded with her. He had to rectify this situation somehow. He wasn’t sure if things could ever be the same with Faith if he didn’t try.

“Very well. We will begin in ten minutes.” She led him to a private empty room. “What is it William? I don’t have time for this.”

“What do you want in exchange for the rights.”

She laughed at him. “Do you honestly think I’d give them up?”

“She doesn’t want to be turned.”

“When does that ever stop us William? I didn’t want to be, you didn’t want to be... the list goes on and on. It’s fate.”

                “No. I won’t let you.”

“You won’t let me? You, dear boy, don’t have a choice.”

                “Please... I’ll do anything.”

“Anything to save your precious from an eternity with me? Is that such a bad thing?”

“When she doesn’t want it, yes.”

“Drusilla was right, you have gone soft. I didn’t believe it when I ran into her, but I see now it’s true.”

“That doesn’t hurt me.” He stood his ground.

“If I were to give them up, I’d have to have something equally as good.”

                “Name it.”

“What is even more precious than rights to a slayer? I can’t think of anything, can you?”

                “What about Angelus?”

“Oh, your guilt ridden sire, you’re gonna bring him to me for her? Of what interested would he be to me? I have no use for him.”

                “Then what?”

“How about you William? Are you willing to let her go in exchange for yourself?”

Chapter 12 : the Deal that Death Hath Made

He stood frozen. Was he willing? “So? Are you?” She asked.

                “Yes.” He whispered.

She stared at him for what seemed like hours. He’d made the right decision. Faith could live her own life. He was being the better man. He looked at Raven and she started clapping. “Congratulations William, you have just succeeded in surprising me. Excellent show!”

                “What?”

“A vampire willingly submits to save a mortal’s life. I never thought I would see the day. Come now, it’s time to go.”

                “For what?”

                “The presentation.”

                “But...”

“Hush William.” He followed her out and she took Faith’s hand and led her to the top of the stairs.

Faith looked down around them, there were hundreds of vampires waiting. She wondered what Spike was doing while she was waiting. The room quieted as she walked down half the stairs. Faith looked to the manacles of the foyer and there were people chained, their necks dripping. It was kind of exciting.

“Friends and family, I’m pleased to welcome you to a very special presentation tonight. I have here before me William the Bloody and Faith the Vampire Slayer.” The crowd started screaming and growling, obviously confused. Raven raised her arms and the crowd quieted. “They have been granted asylum and you are all to assist them if necessary.” Again, more growls and screams. She raised one hand and in an instant a ball of light flew from it and illuminated the room. “SILENCE!”

Raven turned to Faith. She’d told Faith was expected of her. “You are a slayer, correct?” Faith nodded. “Do you admonish yourself of your title?”

                “I do.”

“Do you accept our customs as your own?”

                “I do.”

“Do you give of yourself willingly?”

“I do.” Faith pushed her hair back exposing her neck. Raven descended upon it and Faith felt the two pricks as Raven drank her blood. After a few mouthfuls, she stopped and pulled away.

“She is of us now. She is under our protection. You are to give your lives for her safety.”

                “WHY?” One minion screamed.

“Who dares question me?” She challenged.

“I do. Why should we protect a slayer?” One minion separated himself from the crowd.

“Because I am your Master now.” Faith saw Raven take a stake and it flew through the air and hit the minion and he turned to dust. “Anyone else want to challenge me?” The room remained silent. “In addition to asylum, William has claimed her as his mate and she is to be treated as the mate of a Master vampire.”

Raven walked down a few more stairs and motioned for Spike and Faith to follow. They did. “Faith is the one we have been waiting for my children. Her arrival is the beginning of changes. Her blood is the purest and sweetest I’ve tasted. For this reason, I have Rights to her.” The crowd gasped but remained silent. “Enjoy the party tonight my children for the future looks bright.”

A few vampires continued to look at her but most went back to groping each other or biting the victims chained the walls.

“Come to my chambers.” Raven said to them. They followed her. She opened a door at the end of a hallway. The room was beautifully decorated with walls of bookshelves. “Sit down both of you.” They did. “William has offered himself in exchange for your freedom Faith, but as you noted in the presentation, I declined his offer.”

“Is there a point? Cause I’m extrememly bored.” Faith quipped.

“You’ve got powerful blood. You’re strong and I believe that force that I have been feeling is you. I believe you will lead us in our greatest feat yet.”

“What? Planning on taking over the world Pinky?”

                “Precisely.” Raven hissed.

                “Huh?”

“Demons walked the world once before and our time will come again. I believe you will lead us.”

                “Why me?”

“Because your soul is dark and powerful. You have access to those powers if you open yourself to them. *That* is what I want. That’s why you came. I have childer, I do not wish the burden of another to teach.”

“So, what’s the problem? Let us go.”

“It doesn’t work that way my dear. You’re a slayer and you will be turned one day in the future. I will be the one to turn you on that day, not William. My blood will make you the strongest you can be. William cannot be your mate if you’re his childe. The answer is simple.”

                “How so?”

“You will do something for me. The hunters are coming. There is a book, a talisman and a crystal I need. The hunters will have those things. You will retrieve them for me.”

“And why the hell would do that?” Faith asked.

“Because if you are successful you can leave. You can have ten years together before returning to face your destiny on my arm. You will come back and will be brought into the darkness. I have great things planned for you. Both of you.”

                “Like what?” Spike wondered.

“Such things are a mystery yet to me, but great things are instore. Do you accept my proposal?”

Spike looked at Faith and both agreed. “Yes.” They said in unison.

“Wonderful. You are free to go. I will see you ten years from today. Enjoy your time, teach her our customs William. She will need to know.” With that Raven disppeared behind a curtain.

Spike grabbed Faith’s hand and they ran out of the building. They got in the allyway and he grabbed her waist. “So?” He asked.

“So I’m going to die in ten years. How is that better?”

“Because she doesn’t want a childe in you, she just wants you to be strong. She will let you be with me. She’ll let us be together.”

                “Are you sure?”

                “Yes Luv, I’m sure.”

“Then I think we should celebrate.”

“What did you have in mind?” She smiled seducatively.

*************

He looked up at her naked body covered in sweat from hours of fucking. She was insatiable. She was made to be a vampire, of this he was convinced. She slowly fingered herself as he dove into the girl’s neck and tore it open. Blood gushed from the wound and he buried his face in it. He growled as he drank and lapped at the spurts of blood hitting his face. THIS was what eternity was about. Drinking and fucking. He was sitting on his knees and he felt Faith’s body press against his back as she crouched behind him. Her hands slid under his arms and slathered the blood over his chest. He felt her lips on his neck savagely biting and sucking on him.

She rubbed her wet pussy on his back and ass and finally stood up. She forced him to turn around, grabbed his face and shoved it in her cunt. “Eat me baby.” He kissed her creamy blood covered thighs. Her entire body was covered in sweat, blood and cum. She was effectively fucking his face while running her blood covered fingers through his hair. “You feel so good Puppy.” She said.

He growled in response and she moaned, “Bunny like...” she whimpered as his tongue fucked her. Spike pulled her down to her knees and back onto the blood covered floor of the rented room. Her hair was matted with it and she arched against his touch as his fingers slid inside her hot channel smearing blood inside her. “Fuck me Spike... please... inside now.”

He thrust inside hard and she moaned encouragingly. “You’re so bloody tight baby, I love your hot little cunt.”

“Just shut up and fuck me with your huge cock baby, talk later.” She panted as he pounded her into the puddle of blood that splattered their bodies. Her nails scratched down his back digging into his skin and she thrashed under his body. He kissed one of her breasts before biting into it roughly and drinking her life from the wound. She shuddered and screamed in orgasm for what seemed like hours. He shot his load deep inside her cunt as he drank.

“God Puppy, I don’t think I can move again. I’m too tired.”

“Me too, but not a bad way to start off, huh?”

“No baby, not bad at all.” Soon she was sleeping curled up in his arm, they way it should be.
