| CRAZY CONCOCTIONS |
| Bill's Prize Winning Fudge |
| 2/3 c. Hershey's cocoa 4 c. sugar 2 c. milk 1 stick maragine 1/4 ts. salt 2 ts. vanilla Use a thick walled pot or one with a heavy bottom to keep from burning the fudge. Combine sugar, cocoa and salt in an 8 qt pot and stir together. Add milk and stir until mixed together, then cut maragine into small pieces and place in the mixture. Do not add the vanilla at this time. Place pot on burner and bring to a full, rolling boil on high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens to a softball when a few drops are placed in cold water. The fudge should be stirred occasionally during the cooking stage. When the fudge is tested and meets the softball staqe, remove from burner and stir thoroughly. It will speed up the process if the pot is placed in cold water in the sink for a minute or so while stirring. Add the vanilla when the fudge has cooled slightly. Stir the fudge while it is in the cold water. When it begins to harden, pour into a buttered (bottom & sides) 7 x 13" dish or pan. Let cool til fudge set up, then cut and enjoy.
