| REMEMBER GOD'S STRONG HAND Lam 3:21; Joshua 4:1-24; Gen 8:13,15; Ex 13:3; Gen 28:10-18,19; Deut 8:2;Ps 77:11; Matt 16:9 Mk 8:17-19 We are the created, and limited by space and time. We serve God our creator who is not limited by time or space. There's a tendency for the one created to lose perspective on our life forgetting what God has done for us in the past. Knowing this God reminds us in his word to REMEMBER! Remember who he is what he has done...so throughout the Old testament feasts and festivals were established, as well as memorials of stones and altars built to REMEMBER what God has done. In the New Testament we are told to do the Lord's Supper (Communion) in Remembrance of Jesus sacrifice on the cross for us. God is saying "Don't Forget!" We need to learn to exercise our memories wisely. We don't seem to have trouble remembering the negative side of things, the sin we have wollered in like mud. Let trouble come and we have already forgot what God has already brought us out of. We need to build up an altar to the Lord an altar of Remembrance whether it is physical or spiritual. Remember what the Lord has done for you. He brought you out of Egypt..Yes you..Your Egypt was sin as was mine. He washed me in Jesus precious blood. Joshua and the children of Israel erected a stone memorial to remember. God told them to do this so that it might be a sign among them, when the children ask in time to come, what do these stones mean? The Lord your God dried up the Jordon so that we could pass over, That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty...God has built a monument in our hearts of things he has done for us. Don't let satan snatch these memories from you. My mother and my grandparents were walking memorials to God when they walked this earth. Their actions taught me more of God then anything they could have said. They lived the word! When all is said and done, when I'm gone on to heaven, I want to leave behind a memorial to God. Alife dedicated to him. Everytime we see a storm on the horizon we need to focus on Jesus and what he has already done for us, and know he will bring us through this, too. God has walked many a mile with me already. He promises he will never leave us nor forsake us! He is true to his word! No matter what you are going through God can and will bring you through. Trust him! I haven't went through anything yet, that God wasn't right there with me. He is my strength and my peace. He is my rock! He wants to be all this and more to us all! REMEMBER GOD!!!! |
| TREASURE HUNT You and I are on a treasure hunt. Praise God! Pro. 2:1-4 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; so that thou incline thy ear unto wisdom and apply thy heart to understanding; Yea if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest for her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasure; This talks about a path we should travel as God's children. We are challenged here to hide or store up WHAT? God's wisdom, his teachings on wisdom, we are to take the path of God's wisdom. We are told to: (underlined above) RECEIVE, HIDE, INCLINE, APPLY, CRIEST, LIFTEST UP, SEEKEST, SEARCHEST this is strong action words! We are to fight, labor and strive after God's word, God's wisdom. Like a minor mining for gold or silver or precious gems. We are to search for God's wisdom as it were silver or gold. Matt 13:44 Again the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hid in a field, the which when a man has found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. We must seek after God's wisdom as hidden treasure. Miners were willing to give up all they had to go in search of silver and gold. They would move their whole families...We need to seek after God and his wisdom with the same fervor and the same zeal. The man in Matt. went and sold all he had to buy this field because of the treasure in it. We have to be willing to give up all we have and all we have become in this world for God...for his wisdom, his way, his word, his path! We must cry after God's knowledge. God's word is this treasure if we receive it, hide it in our hearts, then listen to his wisdom and apply our heart to God's understanding, cry after his knowledge, lift up our voice, shout out loud for his understanding, seek after it as one seeks after treasure... Then and only then will we understand the fear of the Lord and find knowledge. Knowledge and wisdom for every circumstance we face. Knowledge of God, includes fear of the Lord. Pro 2:5-12 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mout cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgement, and preserveth the way of his saints. then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgement, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; James 1:5 If any of you lack wisom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. If we do our part, God will do his part, we are in covenant with him, a blood covenant thru the blood of Jesus Christ. Praise God!! If we choose to walk uprightly before the Lord, he will be our buckler (shield), our protection. He will lead and guide the faithful ones, his saints, his worshippers. When wisdom enters into a man he understands righteousness, and judgement and equity (uprightness) he knows how to walk the right path, he's no longer easily swayed by satan to turn the wrong way. KJV commentary says: This pleasant result is due to the fact that wisdom has made its way into the mind and has found a welcome reception in the soul of man. This receptive man is now guarded by discretion and understanding. Discretion i an alert and guardedness against the froward...those who represent or distort of the truth. When wisdom is pleasant to your soul, you are preserved from men who practise the distortion of the truth. Praise God we have got to get in God's word and seek out his wisdom for our lives and for the lives of those around us. Sometimes it's as simple as asking, other times we have to seek, hunt, search, and knock. ACTION!! We have to put some work into it. The word tells us Rev 1:6; 5:10 we are kings and priests unto God. Prov 25:2 says it is the Glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of kings to search out a matter. We do these things we will be delivered from the evil man...Praise God! We will no longer be tossed to and fro, easily swayed...We will then STAND, and STAND THEREFORE... PRAISE GOD!!!! Dear Lord keep our paths, direct our every step. Lord your word is our light. Thank you Lord! Jesus your word means so much more then silver and gold. Lord you are our true treasure. We exalt and worship you Lord!!! Amen. 11/2005 |
