The Cat Quilt was completed in July of 2000.

I managed to complete the quilt by myself (with lots of answers from quilters in Bay City). To accomplish this I did what is known as 'quilt as you go' basically, this means that each block is a mini quilt and then they are put together.

When I got through I had a king size quilt that I wish Momma were alive to give it to.  She is the only one that would get it!!!
the hobbies one has are the keys to the inner person.
A closer look reveals use of blocks made by foundation piecing, applique and machine embroider set together with many different fabrics all having  the theme of cats.

On each crossing sash a cat quote is repeated in 'tone on tone' or shall I say for the unknowing thread that matches the fabric. Around the outer edge binding the information 'The Cat Quilt completed July 2000 by Elsie Hopkins" is sewn over and over.

I am proud of the quilt, it was a lot of hard work and many times I weeped as I stitched for I missed Momma a lot while doing it.
