His parents were civilians traveling from Earth to Qo'Nos when the ship was attacked by rogue Cardassians. All hands were killed except for Derke and Care. They were spared only because Care was pregnant and Cardassians had soft spots. They took the Fowler's to Cardassia where their leader used him as his own personal servants. About a month before Starfleet heard word from Cardassian spys about their capture, Care gave birth to her first born son. Almost immediately after notification of the three's whereabouts, Starfleet sent undercover agents to retrieve the three and dealt with the rogues. The Fowler family was taken to Earth and given the opportunity to serve as secret agents to leaders throughout the universe. Derke decided he liked the idea, but wanted to wait untill his son was older. When Za'mare was seven, his parents decided to take up the extended offer and were immediately sent to the Andorian system. They served as shop owners on Starbase 17. While there Care had three more children; Jak, Jenna, and Heroine. When he turned nine, Za'mare's parents became servents to several of the leaders on Andoria when the starbase closed down. As much as Za'mare loved the undercover family life, he felt that he wanted something more to life. Finally, at the age of fourteen, he went to a boarding academy in Olney, Illinois. While there, he became best friends and roomed with his cousin Krisko Krimso. Since he'd completed five grades in two years he was only one grade below Krisko as a Junior. He graduated at the top of his class, and joined Kris at college in England, and then again at Starfleet Academy after graduating with a two year degree in tactics. While on Earth, Za'mare picked up karate, and an addiction to games that played like you were on a starship at the tactical station. While at Starfleet Academy, he took classes in both tactical and security, tactical as his main goal. He doubled up on classes and finished his tactical course in half the time. In the last two years he doubled up degrees again with flight classes, finishing them in half the time as well. He took security all four years. When he graduated, he'd "majored" in tactical, and "minored" in security and flight. He returned to Andoria that summer to be with his family, untill he received his orders to go to the Neutral Zone, in the Obsidian Fleet. He was to be he Assistant Chief Tactical Officer for the USS Polaris, a galaxy class starship awaiting it's Commanding Officer.
