History: Being born in a small farm in Portugal, the young Francis had never thought about joining Starfleet until his father told him about his being a marine but resigned to start a family. In his days the Fleet did not consider the choice of family joining their loved ones in their long years in space. He told Francis that there was no feeling like serving the Federation in their hour of need. Although Francis was ten, the conversatoin had changed his life.
Francis learned as much as he could from his father, including the martial arts and training with phasers. He also learned old Earth languages and about European cultures. So, it was no suprise to his parents when he left their quiet life and joined the Starfleet Marine Corps. When he went through boot camp, he learned all he could about leadership and command tactics.
Francis graduated in the top five of his class. Before he could be assigned to his first posting, he was asked to join the Starfleet Intelligence Department where he stayed for two years, serving in some covert operations missions and collecting Intel in enemy territory, namely in the Orion sector where he helped capture a gang of Orions that had enslaved humans.
Now, finally free from duty of SID he was assigned to the galaxy class starship, the USS Polaris under Commander Teri Luketic.
Other Information: Francis is a Christian living in times when religion doesn't seem to matter much to humans.
