Craig David is travelling the world on a tidal-wave of success - but the modest R&B star is simply grateful for the opportunity to make people smile. The British singer is currently on a hectic jet-set promotional tour following his outstanding success in his native country - but the shy 20-year-old is more than happy to trot the globe because he's so enthused by his music. He smiles, "I'm glad that people are appreciating my music. I let myself know that as quickly as success comes, it can be taken away." "I never thought at 14 that I'd have a hit song and be travelling around the world at 20. I'm so passionate about music in general so if I go sing and touch an individual, be it in America, Japan, France, anywhere, it makes me feel as if I've done something." "America, embracing what I've done, I have to say it feels crazy. I'm having a great time and I'm really lucky to be doing what I'm doing." "To perform and to give something back, that's the smallest thing an artist can actually do. If you can do that and make someone else smile, then I think it's a good thing." "Being an artist that people line up for waiting to see, I'm just enjoying it. Hopefully I'll be around for years and years to come, coming back to do it all again." (WENN) Source: Soundbuzz

I've decided to disable the picture gallery temporarily until I can find the time to upload all the pictures to another account. Unfortunately, with the amount of pictures I have, they consume too much bandwidth which results in this site being temporarily shut down for an hour or two at a time. I'll let you know when the picture gallery is back online.

I decided to do a few quick updates before I leave home for Christmas. I'll update as much as I can today.
Wildstar/Atlantic recording artist Craig David has announced details of his highly anticipated debut North American tour. Kicking off January 29th in Miami, Florida, this will be the U.K.-based singer's first full-scale tour in the U.S. and Canada, and will see him backed by the same crack eight-piece band that has accompanied him around the world for the past two years. The tour - sponsored by Armani Jeans -- runs through a February 26th date in Seattle, Washington (see below for full itinerary). Craig's February 9th date in Toronto went on sale today, and was an instant sell-out! "7 Days" - the second single from David's debut album, "BORN TO DO IT," which is certified RIAA gold, and is rapidly approaching platinum - is currently exploding at multiple radio format while the "7 Days" companion video clip is currently in "Rated Next" rotation at BET, "Heavy" rotation at MTV, and "Custom" rotation at VH1. The video - directed by Max and Dania (Debelah Morgan, Shaggy) - is also in frequent rotation at both MTV2 and MuchMusic USA. David and guitarist Fraser T. Smith are currently on the road in the U.S., where they are performing acoustically at a number of prestigious radio-sponsored holiday festivals, including KIIS-FM's Jingle Ball at Los Angeles' Staples Center on December 19th. On December 12th, David was among the artists performing at "The Concert," the very special one-night-only event at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre organized by Elton John. The show - which benefits both the Elton John AIDS Foundation and AIDS Project Los Angeles - saw Craig sharing the stage with matchbox twenty, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Sting, Pete Yorn, LeAnn Rimes, Rufus Wainwright, and Sir Elton himself. David was among the big winners at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, held Thursday, November 8th at the Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany. Craig received the "Best R&B Act" and "Best U.K. Act" prizes at the ceremonies, which also saw him performing "Walking Away" (featuring a passage from U2's classic, "One"). In addition, David's "Fill Me In" companion video clip received a pair of prizes at the 2001 Billboard Music Video Awards, presented November 2nd in Beverly Hills, California. The video - directed by Darren Grant (Jewel, Destiny's Child) - was acknowledged as the "Best Dance New Artist Clip of the Year," as well as the "Best R&B New Artist Clip of the Year."

Soulful singer Craig David has finally found the woman of his dreams - American R&B star Alicia Keys.
British crooner Craig admits the hip-hop sensation is his ultimate choice for a kiss under the mistletoe this Christmas. Craig says, "It would have to be Alicia. She's got flava. She's a Cinderella." Explaining his confusing slang, he adds, "If you see a really hot girl, then she's a Cinderella. But if you see a girl who's a real curveball, then she's a Spinderella."

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Now that he's a knight of the realm, it's not too much of a stretch to view the benefit concert for Sir Elton John's AIDS Foundation as a kind of royal summit: Some of the biggest names in pop (Sting, Bon Jovi, Leann Rimes, Matchbox Twenty), along with a few worthy newcomers (Pete Yorn, Alicia Keys, Rufus Wainwright, Craig David), answering the call to help his charity. Accompanied only by an acoustic guitarist, Craig David showed that he has more up his sleeve than ``Re-Rewind.'' He took the stage with a leonine grace and showed that he can purr and rap with equal command.
Presented by the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Performers: Sting, Craig David, Leann Rimes, Rufus Wainwright, Pete Yorn, Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, Matchbox Twenty, Elton John. Reviewed Dec. 12, 2001.
