Concealed Carry Handgun Training Curriculum (HAVEN, KANSAS)

The cost to attend this training is $75.00*. Classes fill up quickly. It is recommended that you submit a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee along with the registration form to guarantee your participation for the date of your choice. The balance of $50.00 is due the morning of the training and may be paid in cash.

*Sign up your family and friends and receive a group rate discount. You can save $10.00 each when you attend with three or more. To receive the discount, a minimum of three people must pre-register and pay the full registration fee of $65 in advance. More than three can qualify for the discount, however all persons taking advantage of the group rate must register in advance at the same time, they cannot be added later.

Classes are limited to 24 participants only on a first come-first serve basis. Minimum class attendance is eight participants. Trainers reserve the right to cancel any class with insufficient numbers. In the event a class is canceled, you will be reserved a seat within the next training class or your registration fee will be refunded.

Classes meet at the Haven Community Center, 215 S. Reno Ave., Haven, KS 67543. The Community Center is just south of the Coop grain elevator. Class times are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch. Breaks will be taken each hour. During the first 6-hours of the class, in an emergency, participants may be reached at the Community Center by calling 620-465-3391.

The Attorney General requires a full 8-hour training program so class will start promptly at 8:00 am. If you have outstanding registration / enrollment issues to address it is highly recommended that you arrive early. Class will start on time!

The bulk of the training will be presented indoors with firing exercises and qualification conducted on an outside range. Range exercises will be completed regardless of weather conditions unless it is lightening. Participants are responsible to ensure they dress appropriate for the weather.

C & R Training can schedule special private classes for just your organization or workplace. Call to discuss requirements.

You are required to bring with you the following:

- safe and properly functioning handgun (There are no restrictions on the handgun you choose to use. If you do not have a handgun, you may rent one for $10.00 plus the cost of the ammunition, please contact us in advance to make arrangements.)
- 75 rounds of ammunition (must be factory - no reloads)
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
- Pen / paper

This course schedule is the Kansas Attorney General's approved curriculum that includes the following:

8:00 am - Introduction / Safety Briefing
8:15 am - Basic Introduction to Handguns, Safe Handling and Storage of Firearms
9:15 am - Firearm Care and Maintenance
9:30 am - Legal Issues Relating to the Use of Deadly Force
11:30 am - Lunch (on your own)
12:00 pm - Use of Deadly Force
1:30 pm - Firearm Manipulation, Marksmanship and Practice
2:30 pm - Written Test: 25 questions, must obtain a score of 100%
3:00 pm - Range Qualification: 25 rounds, fire from the 3, 7, and 10 yard lines, no time limit, score must be no less than 18 hits within the silhouette,
4:30 pm - Certification / Dismissal

Please remember, successful completion of this training course does not guarantee you will be approved for Concealed Carry Handgun licensing.

Trainers reserve the right to refuse training to anyone.

The cost of this training is in addition to the fees you will be required to pay for licensing.
