Jerusalem
Model of the City at the time of second temple, just prior to the city's destruction by the Romans. Temple is at left, Fortress of Antonio is just in front of it, At right edge of inner wall is Galgotha (Christian site). Picture on right gives better view of the place of executions (Galgotha) along the Damascus Road.

This is how Galgotha looks today. It's next to a vineyard and wine making plant (garden) that has a tomb with significant proof of being Christ's grave. Not that it matters, he's not there.

Steps that lead up into the temple, from the period of Christ.

More digs of the actual foundations of the temple area.

Part of the wall from the time of Hezikiah

The temple looked (according to writings) just like this. The high part is the holy of holies, over Mt Morriah, the spot where Abraham was to have sacrificed Isaac. Notice the courtyard and then the inner area. The wall on the back left side of the temple courtyard is still standing and is known as the wailing wall.

The Moslem Domeof The Rock (Mosque) is over the rock known as Mt Morriah on the exact temple holy spot. The roof is solid gold. Picture on the left is taken from the area of the courtyard on the inside of the wailing wall.

Different views of the Wailing wall, or the western wall of the temple. All that is remaining from the temple that was used at the time of Jesus. Still the holiest place for Jewish worship.
