Registered Nursing Program Approved
-By Catey Cahill

Attention all aspiring nurses! The Registered Nursing (RN) program has been approved! It is set to begin in the fall semester of 2005, but dont waste time because only a limited amount of people are being accepted.

I think its wonderful that the RN program was approved. Its a huge necessity for our community, being that theres such a huge shortage of nurses. It will benefit the college, the hospital, and the community. There will be more job opportunities, better paying jobs, and it will help people further their education, commented Administrative Assistant to the Health and Science Nursing Program, Jennifer Phipps.

Applications will be available by June 10, 2005. If you would like a copy of the application you can log onto the CMC website at www.cmccd.cc.ca.us/index.shtml and click on the New Courses Programs link.

Applications will only be accepted if they are complete. In order for an application to be complete it must contain the RN application form, two copies of all official college transcripts in a sealed envelope, showing all prerequisites have been satisfied with a grade of C or better, and all phone numbers and addresses must be up to date. If for some reason your mailing address or phone number changes just notify the HSNP Director right away.

The application packages will only be accepted when submitted by US Postal Service Priority Mail with a delivery confirmation. The address it should be sent to is Admissions Committee, RN Nursing Program Copper Mountain College P.O. Box 1398 Joshua Tree, CA 92252.

Dont waste time getting those applications in. Only 24 students will be admitted and there will be a first come first serve basis when applicants are decided on. So, the sooner you send yours in, the better your chances are.

For further information on the RN Nursing program just stop by the Office of Instructions, in Phase III.
