Yes, it's true that we were cut from 97.1
this past Monday. Mid-dayer (and fellow former Oldies 96.3
personality) Bobby Knight also lost his job. It seems that Cumulus
Broadcasting wants to "go in another direction" with their radio
station and attract younger listeners. They'll start airing an OUT OF
STATE SYNDICATED show very soon, in the MORNING slot, and will
probably have someone new to Nashville to replace Bobby, too. We are
sick to death of the whole situation, to be honest with you. We were
hired specifically to attract a certain demographic and feel we
achieved that. However, the company now claims they cannot sell
advertising for that age group and are wanting to go for the younger
"demo's" now. ..changing the MUSIC, as well as the personalities. We
are hurt, but not down. In the meantime, Coyote and I are each going
on vacations this week and will return to "re-group" and come up with
a plan for the future. Let's get through the holidays with some
positive thoughts and hope for a brighter 2007. You have been a huge
part of our success in the 2 1/2 years we've been a team (seems
longer, doesn't it?) and we hope you'll stay with us, wherever we go.
So, please bear with us, and know that we love you and want to keep
our "oldies" family together for a very long time. And........thank
you for caring.
