| William Henry Cox was born in Foundry Cottages , Tavistock , Devon in 1839 . He was the first in a long line of Coxes to break with the tradition of earning a living as a Blacksmith by moving from Tavistock to Hampton , Middlesex , where he got a job as an engineer at the Hampton Water Works. He married his wife , Susan , in Sunbury-on-Thames in 1860. They later lived in Battersea ( in 1891 ). He died in the 1920's |

| Maud She went to USA and susequently married a man whose surname was BARTELLS. They lived at one point at 145 , Wrightwood Avenue , Chicago , Illinois. Her husband was very wealthy and she desperately wanted to adopt Daisy ( her niece ) and take her back to USA. Daisy's mother refused to allow this. Upon her return to America Maud sent Daisy �5.00 and would often package up clothes to send on to them. Ellen ( Daisy's mother ) would allow this. They are reputed to have lost all their money in the Wall Street crash in the 1930's. They had no known offspring. Ellen She never married Charles He was an engineer and also an alcoholic. He was disliked intently by Ellen Maud Cox. Kate She went to America and got married out there. She joined the Klondike Gold Rush and reputedly found plenty of gold.. However the journey back was very bad and they had to spent most of their fortune travelling home. They virtually ended up penniless. She contracted TB at the age of 46 and subsequently died. Ellen Maud Cox was not fond of her because allegedly before she went to America, she often entertained "high class" gentlemen at home !! Ellen severely frowned upon her for this. |
