| William Henry Cringles Cox was born in Hampton in 1864.He married Ellen Maud Locke when she was 16 , but the marriage record has yet to be proven.. The family lived in Battersea and also Pimlico. After the First World War they had very little money and moved in with Ellen's mother Annie , who had been recently widowed.. Ellen died around 1920 , aged 50 , in St Georges Hospital , Pimlico. | William He never married. As an upholsterer by trade he mainly worked in Mayfair.He lodged with his sister Violet and her family. He died aged 70 in approximately 1960. (photo) Ernest Alfred He was born in app 1891. He married Elsie Emma Caroline Hutson in 1910 at Edmonton. He was considered to be the black sheep of the family who could never hold a job down and was always moving from one lodging to another.He married Elsie Emma Caroline Hutson in 1919 and they had 11 children. He died on 27 / 4 / 1959 aged 63 after accidentally gassing himself. (photo) Nelly She was born in app 1896. She married Steve Dowdall and they had 2 children . Nelly died in 1968. Violet Born app 1895. She married Frederick Courtney in 1921. They had 4 children. Violet worked as a domestic servant from the age of 17 for the Duchess of Warwick at Warwick Castle. Lillian Little is known of Lillian except that she disappeared after her mother's death , possibly to USA. Although another story says that she was a bit of a 'wild child' , she may have been turned out by her mother. Horace He died aged 18 due to a spinal condition brought on by an accident Edgar He died young, around 16 , due to pneumonia or meningitis Harold He never married. He went into Catterham Institute in 1920 , possibly when the family moved from Dulwich to Pimlico.. He tended to wander a great deal , so he needed to be looked after. Reginald He was born in 1911 and was the only child whose birth was registered ( possibly because it was illegal now not to do so ). His first marriage was to Lillian , who unfortunately died. They had one son. He later remarried and had 3 children. Reg was a toolmaker for various companies including Daimler.. He was in the RAF during WW2 when the family lived in Durham. He also lived in the Midlands , Mitcham and Hayling Island. |
