Staff Meeting Notes For February 2004

  1. We have four new Travel Counselors: Dorothy Carroll, Bob Dunihue, Jim Durand, and Marilyn Waugh. Please welcome them and show them the ropes.
  2. Thanks to Joyce Brach, Dorothy Clark and Lynn Anduss, who have helped me to fix the printing problems we were having with the Feb newsletter and we hope to have fixed them for this one.
  3. Please be sure to give yourself the mileage credit for your travel to and from the welcome center on your taxes. You would be surprised how quickly it all adds up!
  4. The New Calendar of Events Guide is available under the counter and will be updated in the Summer and Fall. This calendar is arranged by week and then by city alphabetically. Please take a look as it is a valuable resource for any visitor looking to find something to do. Please do not give it away or spill anything on it--as both happened in 2002!
  5. We will be discussing the Welcome Center Shirts/Jackets Program at the next Staff Meeting. If you would like to learn more and/or participate in the program, please plan to attend.
  6. If you come in early to set up or stay late to close, please adjust your hours to reflect his information. All of your time on duty as a travel counselor should be reflected.
  7. I am open to suggestions regarding the new topo map. However, I want to stress that the new placement needs to be somewhere where it can be seen but also where it will not be

destroyed as the previous one was. The old one is still available for use for those people who have a hard time seeing the new one.

Fort Collins brochures are approved for display  because the businesses they represent are paying members of the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau. Front Range Brochures that are specific to Fort Collins are on display in the welcome center because they have been approved by the Program Manager of the State of Colorado Welcome Centers for display in the welcome center BUT are not paying members of the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau. Please do not put brochures from these two regions in the opposite category and if you see someone put their brochure in the racks automatically, please remove them immediately as all brochures need to be inventoried before they are displayed and they may not belong where the business owner placed their brochure. The Welcome Center Manager of each center must follow the guidelines given to them and ensure that all of the brochures are in their proper place. As part of this, I ask for your help. Thank you for helping me to accomplish this part of my job.
  2. Last month I asked you to bring me any brochures that  were unfamiliar or seemed out of place and you have been doing a great job in doing this. I have been passing on the unapproved brochures to either Tina Cochran with
