March is supposed to come in like a lion and out like a lamb and it certainly did last year! The blizzard of 2003 shut us down for 2 days and without our last directional sign we certainly were slow during the latter part of February all the way through the early part of July. Our visitation is sure to increase over last years numbers as we have a SIGN in 2004!
Visitation is key to our survival as a welcome center. Without visitors, we are just a social club that goes on bi-annual study trips. Please be sure to have each and every visitor sign the guest register. Engage them in every way possible by asking them questions and try to encourage them to extend their stay in Colorado. You are the official greeter of Colorado and we depend upon you!
In an effort to improve our knowledge of Colorado, I have continued to line up speakers for our staff meetings. In February, Jay Hardy from The RANCH came to speak to us about the new Budweiser Events Center and to tell us more about the new Larimer County Fairgrounds. We had a wonderful turnout once again and I thank all of you for coming to hear what Jay had to say. The Ranch is a great and exciting new draw to Northern Colorado! The Events Schedule will be printed out bi-weekly or weekly as need will show and it can be found in the Fort Collins binder once it is completed. For now, it is in the important information folder on the front counter. I am looking for a speaker for March so if you have any ideas give me a call.
Keep up the Good Work and Great Attitudes in the year ahead and as our visitation picks remember that I appreciate you just as much as the travelers do.
