are not the one starting the conversations.

CDOT Computer

Please look at the date and time on the pictures on each shift and if they are not current call me or come and get me and I will tell/show you how to fix it. It is important for us to provide the most up to date information possible. The computer is a very important resource during inclement weather and it is important that we keep the pictures current and do not use it for any other purpose than as a road information resource. If you need other web information, please use the computer in the manager's office.

New Relief Map

There is a new relief map at the center and it has been hung on the wall to reduce the wear and tear on it. The same has been done to the Rocky Mountain National Park Relief Map. If you have a visitor that wants to look at the map closer up, the older map is still available and it has been placed under the counter where it used to be kept to reduce the damage to it as well.

Brochures

No Hotels or Restaurants brochures are allowed in the Welcome Center display racks. There are simply too many hotels and restaurants in the state for them to be approved for display as we would have to approve all for display if we approve one. As you can imagine, the amount of space for the number this would entail would be astronomical. Should a hotel or restaurant bring in their brochures for display, thank them nicely, and process them as you usually would by counting them and then place them on the manager's desk. It is important that you do not let the hotels put their brochures out on the shelves and that you do not put the brochures out yourselves. Please pull them if you see them on the shelves. We will often keep them under the counter if they have a special coupon or you can tuck each one into the hotel coupon booklets that are on the display racks.

Lately, unusual business cards have been appearing on the counter and unknown brochures are popping up. If you do not recognize the brochure pull one and leave it on my desk with a note asking if it is ok. I will leave a note in the black pass on book on the back counter regarding its eligibility to be on the counter/in the center or not. No business cards are ever allowed in the center unless they are part of the Fort Collins Local Area.

Please do not and I cannot stress this enough fill the empty spaces in the racks with any brochures. The spaces are empty for a reason and it makes it harder for everyone when they are filled up by the wrong thing. Also do not fill up one space that is empty with a temporary out of sign with something else in front of it because when that depleted item arrives it makes it harder to find and fill it in.

Please do not enter brochures in the brochure binder as 3 boxes. It is important to know the exact amount in each box for the end of the year inventory. Thanks.

Due to the weight, size, and thickness of the large brochures, we have moved them to the lower shelves of several of the regions. By doing this we are hoping to reduce the wear and tear on the racks and reduce the need to restock so often. This does not mean that we should forget to stock! Please be sure to check them often--especially Denver and the other fast moving brochures as they will go quickly no matter how many we put out!

Supplies and Requests

If you have a dust buster or space heater at home that you would like to donate to the welcome center we would gladly put them to use. Several of you have been helping to dust the racks and we have been working on getting the racks cleaned up and refreshed so that they will be in tip top shape for the summer months. Thank you.

To this end, I have purchased some pledge and some Swiffer dusters so if you have a free moment and are willing to
