Guest Register Updates

Rule of thumb for Guest Registration: If someone uses the Welcome Center or a Welcome Center Service, they count and should  sign the guest register.  If someone is here for the sole purpose for one of the other partners, they do not sign the guest register. However, that must be their SOLE purpose! If they then come down and ask you about the state of Colorado and you help them in a travel related function, they count. Please review the information on how to log in the Outside Rack brochures from last months newsletter.

Schedules

Schedules for February are now open to all people and if you have not signed up for March you might want to take a look and put in your information for the month or vacations you are planning to take.

Opening/Closing

Baking Soda has been bought for cleaning the coffee pots at night/after use. Please be sure to put a small amount of the baking soda in each pot, scrub and rinse them each night to reduce the build up. The new pots will be a fresh beginning and we can keep them that way if we take care of them properly.

Please place both pots in front of the donation area to reduce spills. In the event of spills please be sure to clean up the entire spill and check along the sides of the cart, in the drawers and in the cabinets as we have had to clean some rather old spills in recent months.

The Fort Collins Convention & Visitors Bureau receives a newspaper from the Coloradoan each day. Please put this paper in the manager's office each day or you can take it upstairs and place it in front of their office door if you have time.  It will be left by the delivery driver near the outside display rack each morning.

Please be sure to flip the open and closed sign each night and morning.

Lunch Delivery Monday--Friday

Catherine, from Burrito Kitchen in Longmont, will be coming by each day, to see if you would like anything for lunch. She usually comes by around 11- 12. She sells a variety of burritos and various other items. The menu for the week is on display on the file cabinets in the manager's office if you would like to think about it for the future. The burritos are all priced under $3 and are warm when you get them. Several Travel Counselors have tried them already so ask around to see what others think.

Surveys

If you come in and cannot find the surveys, please look in the survey folder, if there are five plus surveys for your day and they are completed you don't need to worry. However, if you look and you cannot find any surveys for your day then it may mean that they were not stocked on the clipboard by the manager or that the clipboard was not taken out of the office and it is important that we find it and or stock it so that we don't get behind as we did New Year's Day weekend. Please call the manager if you cannot find the surveys for your day to avoid getting behind again.

Negativity and Inappropriate Conversations

Please do not discuss the smog, politics, religion, the war in Iraq and other similar topics with the travelers or while you are here at the center. It is important to keep these conversations out of the center as we are here to provide a welcoming and neutral resource for travelers. If someone engages you in one of these conversations (including relocation) and will not let you extricate yourself, do your best to redirect the conversation to traveling or travel related topics. Some people will not allow you to do this--just simply do your best in these situations and be sure that you
