1887 ?- Summer Hill Estates: Jacob bought a home when Edd and Maude babies and Carrie & John Lee moved in.
1887- North and west of Mullen, in Cherry County, between the Middle and North Loup Rivers, is a large section of land known as Dry Valley. Settled by ex-confederate soldiers "Virginia Settlement" Hire, Cherry Co. NW of Mullen. Railroad was completed as far as Mullen in 1887. A empty box car is left on a side track, which becomes a RR depot & the first building, other settlers build, and the town of Mullen is born in 1888.
+1889 Jacob moved back to ranch and took Railroad to Mullen, Hooker County, Middle Fork Loup River.

1897 ?- New Partnership, George and Charlie pull out, Jacobs new wife and son-inlaws arrive, "quarrel" and wife/inlaws move back to ranch at Salix.

1898- School at Woodlake Edd is 14 and teacher Mr. Stevennon.(Stevenson), boarded w/ Grandma Dane. School District No.7 was organized and a one-room school built in 1883. A two-story frame school was built in 1895. (See Maude Story)
