| included within this apocolyptic lair of madness, will be the story of Styx in which i did not create, simply just plagerism, the lyrics to Mr. Roboto, possibly the best fucking song ever written, many photos of Styx, and while looking at all of this exciting bullshit, you will be able to enjoy the mass destruction of the tune that goes along with Mr. Roboto. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| (seriously, Styx fuckin' sucks. this page is acctually making fun of them, though it won't seem like it) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Story of Styx | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Named after a river in Greek Mythology, this band can surely be classified as one of the greatest pop bands of the 70's and 80's. The reason is twofold-nearly every one of their albums contains a hit song, and each track is exceptionally good! With a lot of other bands, no matter how much i really enjoy a few songs on their album, i find myself hitting the fast forward button through many of the tracks in between. Not the case with Styx, and especially not the case with their Greatest Hits album. The best part about Styx' music is that there's a little something for everyone. They're not overdone...what you hear is what you get, they're mellow, melodic and genuine and there are basically no suprises. Whatever album you decide to purchase, you always know you're going to get classic quality Styx-nothing more, nothing less. In 1972, the group signed with "Wooden Nickel" . Original Styx members included Dennis DeYoung (vocals, keyboards), James Young (guitar, vocals), Chuck Panozzo (bass), John Panozzo (drums), and John Curulewski (guitar). During the early 70's, the group cranked out a number of tunes, but it wasn't until 1975, that the hit single "Lady" off the Styx II album, won them any kind of acclaim. That same year, Styx signed with A&M Records, and Curulewski was replaced by lead vocalist and songwriter Tommy Shaw. With Shaw on their team, the band released albums The Grand Illusion-which featured the ever-popular "Come Sail Away," and Cornerstone- which included "Babe." Other well-known Styx songs "The Best Of Times" and "Too Much Time On My Hands" off the album Paradise Theater made the US Top 10 with ease. Kilroy Was Here, and Caught In the Act followed. After Caught In the Act, the group went their ways for a time. They reunited again in 1990 and produced Edge Of the Century. Styx is not heard of much today, though they are still recording and sounding great. |

| Domo arigato, mr. roboto, mata ah-oo hima de domo arigato, mr. roboto, himitsu wo shiri tai You're wondering who i am-machine or mannequin with parts made in japan, i am the mod-ren man I've got a secret i've been hiding under my skin my heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain I.B.M. so if you see me acting strangely, don't be suprised i'm just a man who needed someone, and somewhere to hide to keep me alive-justkeep me alive somewhere to hide to keep me alive I'm not a robot without without emotions-i'm not what you see i've come to help you with your problems, so we can be free i'm not a hero, i'm not a saviour, forget what you know i'm just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control beyond my control-we all need control i need control-we all need control I am the modern man, who hides behind a mask so no one else can see my true identity Domo arigato, mr. roboto, domo...domo domo arigato, mr. roboto, domo...domo domo arigato, mr. roboto, domo...domo thank you very much, mr. roboto for doing the jobs that nobody wants to and thank you very much, mr. roboto for helping me escape just when i needed to thank you-thank you, thank you i want to thank you, please, thank you The problem's plain to see: too much technology machines to save our lives. machines to dehumanize.
