In the early 16th Century, three brothers from Huntingdonshire, England, made the perilous voyage to the English colonies. What made their journey remarkable is recounted here. The voyage
of the Ark and the Dove is a story known by school-age children in Maryland.
For like the Mayflower, the Ark and the Dove brought Pilgrims to the colonies
in search of religious freedom and a new way of life in a new world. The
passengers of the Ark who survived attended the first Mass in the new
world and became the first settlers in the state of Maryland.
