The Coven of
Nocturnal Mist By-Laws I.
Statement of Purpose 1.
Live in a manner
which honors your chosen deities, following the coven rede and personal rede. 2.
Support one another
within the coven in our healing, growth and aspirations. 3.
Attend or support
coven rituals on Sabbats, special occasions, in order to celebrate season,
work magick, recognize rites of passage and honor our deities. 4.
Teach beliefs and
traditional skills to members, students and sister in the craft of our coven. 5.
All members of this
coven must have fully committed themselves to this purpose in their beliefs,
their activities and their lives. II. A.
Qualifications:
Membership shall be offered to individuals upon recommendation of the High
Elders and consensus of all initiates of the coven. No person shall be denied
on the sole basis of race, ethnic background or sexual preference. All
members of the coven are and will consist of only female members. B.
Degrees of
Participation and Membership participants in the programs sponsored by this
coven may include the following: 1.
Guest: Must meet
with one or both elders before attending any coven functions, rituals and or
activities of any sort, for approval to attend. 2.
Dedicants: All
initiates or members whom have fully committed themselves to the coven may
participate in all functions and activities. C.
Membership in the
coven itself shall be limited to: 1.
Initiates: Person
who have been active in the Craft in this coven, for at least a year and a
day, and have met all requirements for initiation as defined by the Elders. 2.
Second Degree
Initiates: Persons who have been active in the Craft in this coven, for at
least two years and two days, and have met all requirements fro Second Degree
status as defined by the Coven: and have been recommended by the Elders, and
approved by both Elders. 3.
Third Degree
Initiates: Persons who have attained Second Degree status: have demonstrated
proficiency in ritual design and leadership, teaching, counseling and have
been recommended by the Elders and approved by both Elders. 4.
Transference from
other covens will be evaluated by Elders on an individual basis and will be
given the degree which best suits. Those who have practiced solitary for a
minimum of four years will be evaluated in the same manner as transfers from
other covens. D.
Membership Status:
Any person’s membership or participation may be suspended or terminated
by decision of the Elders. Either for lack of attendance and/or
participation, or violation of the coven rede. E.
Classes: 1.
Introductory
seminars and other classes which are open to coven members only, shall be
offered at such times and places as the Elders decide. 2.
Classes for
Dedicants and members shall be held at least twice each month on a schedule
determined by the Elders. 3.
The curriculum shall
be established by the coven Elders. 4.
Classes shall be
held at the place or places the Elders designate. 5.
No fees shall be
charged that are part of the regular curriculum of the coven and
congregation. III. Privacy of Members A.
The names,
addresses, telephone numbers and other information related to individual
members shall be considered confidential and may not be disclosed to
non-members without the permission of the individual involved. B.
Disclosure of
confidential information may at the discretion of the Elders be considered a
violation of the coven rede and grounds for expulsion from membership. |
