The Coveilance Dance Project endeavors to bond the art of Belly Dance with joy and inner strength. Located in the Delaware valley, we strive to add an alternative edge to the sensual and hypnotic art of Belly Dance in and around Philadelphia.
Our choreography is a fusion of Middle Eastern dance styles including Cabaret, Ghawazee, Bedouin, and American Tribal Style, with other dance styles such as Spanish Flamenco, Indian dance, and Gypsy style dance.
Our costumes and music are equally diverse. You might see us dressed in anything from coin belts and tribal skirts, to sequined bras and belts, to fishnets and feather boas! Our music ranges from traditional Turkish Belly Dance music to modern Hip-hop or rock and roll. If it's got a good beat, we will dance to it!
The Coveilance Dance Project embraces the power within each individual and we strive to stretch the boundaries of traditional Belly Dance. By fusing individuals and cultures, we hope to enthrall audiences with the power and joy that is Belly Dancing. |
