FRIDAY 20th DECEMBER: Revenge is sweet! The points we stole off Wolves more than made up for the ever-shrinking pile of birthday presents I got! (Or never got!). The same again against Derby would be the ideal Christmas gift! Our sympathies are with Derby at this time of uncertainty, with the club rumoured to be in danger of being taken over by somebody called Richardson. From what I've heard about him, nobody deserves that fate....

FRIDAY 13th DECEMBER: Richard Shaw and yellow cards seem to be the key to success for CCFC! The more cards the better the result, and if Shaw plays we usually win too! He's taken part in 11 games, and we've won eight, drawn one, and lost two! Not bad for a player most don't rate.... Bothroyd's finishing against Stoke was different class, and it appears that Gary Mac has thrown down the gauntlet for Bothroyd to get himself a move to the Premiership - he is good enough!!

FRIDAY 6th DECEMBER: Eight strikers tried in ten matches, and not one goal to show for it. Isn't it time CCFC acknowledged the problem might lie elsewhere? Like those that provide the chances? Right midfield, for instance? A recent online poll I conducted was 100% in favour of Pipe replacing Chippo. Over to you GM.... The short-term loan players have added nothing we didn't already have, so the sooner CCFC use their allocation up the better - bring the "kids" back!

FRIDAY 29th  NOVEMBER: The keepers can't keep goal, and the strikers can't strike - apart from that, everything at CCFC is fine .... No goal from a striker for an age - and to think Strachan once failed to sign Van Nistlerooy as he didn't rate him!! You couldn't make it up. As for the keeper problem, bringing somebody in is a necessity! I hear there's a half decent keeper called Dudek at Liverpool who might not be busy on matchdays soon....

FRIDAY 22nd  NOVEMBER: Soccer isn't rocket science. When CCFC select the youngsters, they do okay. We're slowly swapping them with dinosaurs, and we've stopped winning! And when will CCFC bring in a loan keeper? If we're going to score nil, we need a keeper that is going to make sure the opposition do the same. If CCFC can't survive D1 without Gary McAllister on the pitch, how would they cope if they are promoted?

FRIDAY 15th NOVEMBER: I'm sick and tired of hearing `CCFC should have won that one' every time CCFC play but fail to do so. Norwich, Leicester, Pompey, Forest, etc, etc - we won't be awarded a play-off place because we competed well against teams, only for actually beating them!! Davenport, Konjic, McAllister, Safri, Partridge, Caldwell, plus others - how many of them aren't in the top few players in their position in D1?? So why can't we beat teams? Still gutted.

FRIDAY 8th  NOVEMBER: What is going on? How can McSheffrey go from `the next best thing' to `bloke in the stands' so quickly? If it's down to a lack of goals scored I have a suggestion: Try playing him in the same position (i.e. out-and-out striker) for 90 minutes. Radical .... The only reason Joachim can possibly have leapt ahead in the queue is that CCFC are hoping by some miracle JJ scores a few goals, and earns himself a move when the transfer window opens.

FRIDAY 1st  NOVEMBER: Gutted again! Why do show so much respect to opponents? If we actually bothered playing to our strengths not just concentrating on theirs, we might actually start taking some points. Time to get nasty, CCFC, now! The Walsall match was pretty dire, and CCFC lacked any sort of spark - which made the fact that Delorge was sitting in the stands clubless an even harder pill to take. Any chance of re-signing him? Or at least passing to Kerr?

FRIDAY 25th OCTOBER: Gutted! Yes, CCFC got decent results against the top two sides, but it should have been six points, not two. CCFC's decision to defend for the final 35 minutes against Norwich, with ten players in the final 20 yards of the pitch, backfired - deservedly so. Eustace's finishing is still woeful, missing three clear goals Wednesday. He could be the next Bryan Robson - currently he's more Bobby! (Aged 70!)

FRIDAY 18th OCTOBER: It took Derby only nine weeks to do what it took CCFC ages to do - get rid of Richardson! It seems the club and BR disagreed over his title - they refused to call him `The Messiah'*!! The other club BR almost ruined*, CCFC, face their toughest test so far - Pompey away. Whichever 'keeper CCFC select, it's time they ditched the "Seaman's" and became more "Kirkland".
*Not necessarily true ....

FRIDAY 11th OCTOBER: So finally, possibly the only player to ever make Craig Bellamy look like a decent CCFC signing has left - good riddance Runar Normann! No doubt you will go onto become a world beater.... Speaking of people who don't do their job properly, what planet has the reporter who wrote, "The pint-sized midfielder [Thompson] has made an explosive start to his Blackburn career after his move from Liverpool", been on for the last two years?

FRIDAY 4th OCTOBER: What a Wednesday! A new, 8lb CCFC fan is born, and CCFC win 8-0! Welcome to the world, Megan Elizabeth.... Soccer was put into perspective though as ME's journey into the world was not as plane-sailing as we would have liked. Thankfully things are improving. As for CCFC, they seem to play so well in the WC Cup perhaps they shoud try treating every match as a cup game, starting with Gillingham on Saturday!

FRIDAY 27th SEPTEMBER: How are Wimbledon still alive? And how long can they continue with such small gates? I'd  be sad to see them go, as our win would be chalked off .... Also, the tower has finally gone! Now we can get on with the job of building what we've all been waiting for for years - the world's biggest Tesco's!! The chairman's new Q & A section on the official website is welcome, but the first offering disappointing - answering the stuff fans already knew.

FRIDAY 20th SEPTEMBER: Four words I never thought I would hear together: Runar Normann, goal scorer. One of CCFC's worst ever buys finally gets involved. The display versus Grimsby was poor, against Wednesday even worse. What happened to our passing game? And who is that person pretending to be Chippo? Bothroyd always gets the blame, but there were half-a-dozen+ worse displays than his for both games. His efforts are greatly under-valued....

FRIDAY 13th SEPTEMBER: There's only one division between us, but the class gulf between CCFC and Colchester was massive. They never looked likely to join the list of smaller clubs to embarrass us. Goalkeeping debutant Debec will never have an easier game for CCFC if he stays for 10 years, and in David Pipe, CCFC might have found another gem. Next it's Grimsby, who've failed to score in six of their seven matches so far this season! Banana skin time....

FRIDAY 6th SEPTEMBER: Another televised defeat. Nearly 30 chances created versus Forest, and no goals to show for it - very poor. Macca is rumoured to be bringing another striker in - I would suggest teaching the players he already has (including himself!) to shoot straight instead (NOT straight at the keeper!). CCFC, it seems, only win when they play on a Saturday, with a 3pm kick off - I'm not looking forward to Colchester in the cup next midweek...

FRIDAY 30th AUGUST: Replacing Konjic with Walsh is like swapping whisky for dishwater! Our mistake was exploited to the full by a very average Watford side. Thompson is gone, but Delorge will adequately replace him. DT's shots to goals ratio was poor - and Delorge will only get better. McSheffrey once again showed why he should start, so probably won't even make the bench versus Forest!

FRIDAY 23th AUGUST: A few CFCC doom-mongers predicted we would be nothing more than also-rans this season - I disagree! The defence looks strong, the passing is good, and there looks to be plenty more to come. We've taken seven points from the nine on offer, yet I believe CCFC haven't moved out of second gear - yet! And how much fun has Davenport had already? Sent-off, gave away a dodgy penalty, then atoned with a cracking headed goal! A star is being born!

FRIDAY 16th AUGUST: So far so not to bad, but we need to add goalscoring to quality passing. And so much for my tips for the top! Delorge carried off, Davenport sent off, and McSheffrey benched - despite scoring a belter. And CCFC are again collecting cards like Rod Stewarts collects blondes .... Finally, anyone know Neil Warnock's diet? I'd love to be able to see as clearly as he can - through crowds, and round corners from 50 yards away!

FRIDAY 9th AUGUST: How poor are CCFC that we cannot even afford freebies?! Only one real signing at the time of writing .... The squad still looks fairly strong (Except at right-back!), and with GM's wise, more than capable talent on the pitch, I predict a decent campaign. So many CCFC players were signed up because of promise they had shown - it's time they started living upto their potential. The quality is there, it's time to prove it!
