Once referred to as "the dance school without walls", this highly successful program of on-site classical dance education has been in place in several area schools since 2002. This unique program prides itself on its distinct differences from others. All classes utilize several neighborhood elementary schools - giving students a comfortable, familiar setting. This also means that there are several convenient locations to choose from. Classes take place after the school day has ended, so students who participate in the extended day program are escorted to and from their dance classes. Classes are open to students from any school or district, and homeschool students are always welcome. And perhaps the most distinct difference, a portion of tuition goes directly to each school.
Mother-daughter directors/instructors who formerly taught at their own studios in Pa. and N.J., Volusia County Community Schools Program, and Atlantic Center for the Arts children's art programs, personally team teach every class. Both have been S.T.A.R. trained by the school including fingerprinting, background checks and drug testing. Ms. Carpenter and Ms. Wise are the only instructors and personally team teach every class.
All classes include barrework, technique and French terminology. Classes are designed to allow students explore their creativity, meet new friends, foster independence, self esteem, develop grace, poise and kinesthetic sense thru the study of a performing art - in a safe, fun, noncompetitive atmosphere.
