Casterton Coumminity Theatre Group ~Part 1, 'The Beginning'
Creative minds were churning at the Casterton Old Courthouse Community Centre, when the 'Caught In The Act!' Community Theatre Group was conceived.
A small but talented group clustered around a huge table and gorged on mints as they scribbled out wild ideas on the vast piece of paper which covered the entire table.
Eventually, this seemingly disorganised rabble became a disciplined and efficient troupe, with an impressive agenda of proposed performances, and a catchy (pun intended) title.
'Caught In The Act!' was born!
Is that descriptive enough? I don't know, maybe we could give it a little more 'colour'. How about this...
Casterton Coumminity Theatre Group ~Part 1, 'The Beginning'
Casterton had a talent infestation.
A small but talented group of frustrated writers, actors, singers and otherwise dramatically inclined individuals festered away in their own castles in the air, day-dreaming of one day beguiling a captivated audience with their brilliance.
One day, an article appeared in the local rag and each budding thespian knew at once that it was directed at them. It beckoned to them, promising to connect them with other lost theatrical souls.
The juncture took place at the Casterton Old Courthouse Community Centre, wherein creative minds fervently churned out a whimsical tale of love, loneliness and self-realization entitled 'Matilda Montage'. The play had its one and only staging at one of the local drinking establishments to an inebriated yet still captivated audience. Hooked and hankering for more, it was only a matter of time before the cast and crew craved their next hit.
They came together once more at the Casterton Old Courthouse Community Centre and finding succour with their like-minded comrades, hatched a dastardly plan that would insure the intransience of the corporation. 'Caught In The Act!' was born.
Was that a bit too verbose perhaps? Yeah, a lot of people might not even know that 'verbose' means 'wordy'. Let's try making it into sort of a newspaper article, like this...
Casterton Coumminity Theatre Group ~Part 1, 'The Beginning'
'Caught In The Act!', a community-based theatre group formed at the Casterton Old Courthouse Community Centre, following the success of 'Matilda Montage'.
Written, produced and performed by a small but talented group of local residents, the performance prompted members to form an organized drama group.
'Caught In The Act!' was born!
Well, I'm going to try out a few more scenarios and some different wording at home tonight, but you get the drift. Basically, a small but talented group of Casterton folk decided that they wanted to write and act in some really great plays and musicals and stuff, so they came up with a good one and did it at the pub. Then they all got really excited and decicided to do it again and again...and so 'Caught In The Act!' was born.
Done. Phew. Don't think I'll bother re-writing it tonight, that sorta said it all, don't ya think??.....Hmmm, maybe not, if I just changed that bit in the middle where it.....oh forget it.
