Country Time Records

Our History

Country Time Records started out as the country music division of Time Records in 1945, founded by Paul Coker in New York. In 1947, Coker hired Owen Brad as his assistant working in Nashville. The country music division moved to Nashville in 1955 as much of the country music recording business was locating there. Brad succeeded Coker as head of Times Nashville division in 1958 and developed Time into a country music powerhouse. Time Nashville was renamed Country Time Records in 1973.
