Here is a very handy tip found on the message board "letfreedomring" at http://www.egroups.com. It was posted by Karen Veal. From: Karen Veal <kveal@n...>
Book Gatherings:
I used to give the book hostess several catalogs
and order forms. Most of the catalogs were never returned and I wasn't
having very good luck, so I came up with something new.
I used a 1" navy blue notebook with two
pockets inside. The cost was 99 cents. On the front I made 2
x 4 inch lablels that look like my business card(I scanned it). Inside I
used plastic page protectors and put in both catalogs. In the front
pocket of this notebook I put in 15 COPIES of our invoice. Before I made
copies I added my name, and phone number and the shipping chart on the bottom
(very large). I also three hole-punched a vanilla envelop that I
decorated and put the instructions on the outside of the envelop of how to
place an order. I added another plastic page protector with a sample
order filled out. I made sure on the sample order to order a candle and
explained the XX, a personalized product and explained how to personalize. and
three other items. So now it's easy right? After the catalogs I
inserted two more pages in plastic protectors. One is the hostess
program and one is the current hostess housewarmer and the other is the
following month's hostess housewarmer(Iback to back). I put one
extra set of catalogs that aren't in plastic protetors in the back pocker
for her to keep after the book gathering and to share and I write on them
HOSTESS CATALOGS, Please REturn. I also enclosed a check for the hostess
made out to the U.S. Post Office and a return address label made out to me to
her her mail back the entire notebook including the envelop with orders and
instructions to call me on my toll free number to close her gathering and to
lete me help her with the hostess program.
Now the hostess can take her "BOOK
GATHERING" to the football field, bowling alley, wherever and it's all
self contained with no flyaway papers. The outside of the notebook makes
a great place to write and it's easy to pass around at functions. I also
use the notebooks for hostesses who are teachers, secretaries, etc. that have
a Gathering In-home and want to get orders at work. I always had trouble
with them putting catalogs out and never knowing where they went.
I have sent out notebooks to 4 hostesses and I'm
sure this will be a better way. Just wanted to share because I'm pretty
excited. I let them check out the Hostess Book Gathering for two weeks.
If anyone has something to add, please do.
I'm off to Gather and spend the day at the craft
show with me new Peddler I recently adopted. |
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!!!!
Your Friend,
Karen Veal
