Mother & Daughter Hair Bows

Materials:

Crochet Cotton; Crochet Hook ( Size 7); 2 plastic hair combs or metal hair clips; 2 cameo brooches or earrings (decoration for the center of the bows); White craft glue.

Instructions: - [ ] used for small size bow.

Ch 84 = 10 1/2" [Ch 48 = 6"], sl st in first ch to form a ring.

RND 1: Ch 3 (first dc). Work 1 dc in each ch around, sl st in top of ch 3 to join = 84 dc [48 dc]

RND 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st as joining. * Ch 3, sk 2 dc, 1 sc in next dc. Rep from * 26 more times [14 times], 1 dc in first sc (joining lp made) to join. (1 dc stands as last ch-3 lp of RND). = 28 ch-3 lps [16 ch-3 lps]

RNDS 3-23: 1 sc in joining lp, * ch 3, 1 sc in next ch-3 lp. Rep from * 26 [14] more times, 1 dc in first sc to join. = 28 [16] ch-3 lps. Rep this rnd 20 [10] more times.

RND 24: 1 sc in joining lp, ch 2, * 1 sc in next ch-3 lp, ch 2. Rep from * around. Sl st in first sc to join = 28 [16] ch-2 sps.

RND 25: Ch 3 (first dc), 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, * 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch. Rep from * around. Finish off.

Finishing

Little or no blocking is required. Tie a piece of crochet cotton securely around center of crochet piece to form a bow. Sew finished bow onto hair clip or comb - use a few drops of glue if preferred. Pin brooch in place. If using an earring, simply remove any excess parts using small pliers and then glue the jewelry onto bow. (This is to cover the piece of crochet cotton tied around the center of the bow.)
