HISTORY
Counterfeit Jeffery was born sometime around the end of the year 2000. The original line up was Brian The Bass Player and Sarah. The two got together and just started messing around with cover songs; anything from Green Day to The Verve Pipe. After a few "practices", the two got bored with their lack of material and called it quits.

A few months later, Brian The Bass Player started telling people he was in a band. He wasn't. He called up Sarah and told her they had a show scheduled in his living room for a few close friends of his. The two practiced for a week before the show, throwing together covers of several Green Day, Rancid, MxPx and Anti-Flag songs. At the show, no one really knew they were cover songs and no one really cared, a good time was had by all.

Brian and Sarah then decided that they could do this more often and decided to be a real band again. After trying to force their friends to learn drums, Sarah found that a friend in her guitar class, also named Brian, happened to be a drummer. Presto! Counterfeit Jeffery was alive and kicking! However, they were not always known as Counterfeit Jeffery. The band was Public Display of Aggression for a week, then decided they were neither cool nor tough enough to sport such a name. The band then changed to Sprained Brain for 2 days or so. After being made fun of for such a name, it was scratched and they were nameless for the time being. The three put their heads together and came up with more covers and a few originals; enough to put a show together; as well as a name: Grouch Pocket. The show was held in a friend's backyard, for 20 or so people. After several more backyard/garage shows, and writing enough originals to make a set, the band was asked to open a show at an actual venue. That same day, Brian (the drummer) left the band.

Fortunately, Blake had seen the band's website some time earlier, and had subsequently contacted and befriended Sarah. When asked to take over on drums, he immediately agreed, thus saving the band from an untimely demise. So Sarah and Brian packed up all their songs and equipment and headed to Blake's garage and showed him all the songs, which he picked up almost immediately. After several practices and yet another change of name, Counterfeit Jeffery was ready to strut their stuff at Luke's Barn. After a somewhat successful show, the band is practicing weekly and looking for a place to play.
