1528-1533: Andreas Vesalius experimented on mice, rats, cats, dogs, in his studies of
   anatomy at Louvain.
   Vesalius, by dissecting human cadavers, discovered the
   errors of Galen`s theories (based on animal experiments);
   and his `de Humani Corpis Fabrica` of 1543 included
   descriptions and drawings of human antomy - based on his
   studies of human cadavers.

1543: Realdo Colombo experimented on dogs and is said
                                                        to have discovered circulation of blood thru the lungs.

                                                        Miguel Servatus, in 1537, studied human cadavers and
                                                        discovered circulation thru of blood thru the lungs -
                                                        six years before Colombo`s animal experiments.
