While Chanton turns a blind eye, the Guards entertain themselves with their new country, ravaging the land, raping, pillaging, razing, looting, and all that stuff. The people can no longer take such mindless brutality, and some create an underground resistance called the Rebels. But most of the Rebels are just angry farmers and the like, and have no chance of defeating trained warriors. That is, until one spring day a lone figure shows up...
Dakum - A northern country, much of which is very cold and snow-covered year round.
Cijimaya - A western country composed almost entirely of plains and grasslands, with some marshy areas.
Garrett - A southern tropical country of sweltering jungles and tall mountains.
Chi Kele - An eastern, long and thin country of nothing but desert.
Lodeteran - The ocean that is east of Chi Kele and Osaa.
Osaa - A southeastern country in the desert, known for its trade.
Eastern Beyond - Any land east of the Lodeteran.
Borati - One of the realms of Faloren, in which the story takes place.
Jarta - A fair-sized city in Borati. It is composed of four parts: The Outercity, the Midcity, the Innercity, and the Undercity.
Shir - A large forest north of Jarta.
Rebel Camp - Located in the Shir, this is where the Rebels train, prepare, and plan.
High Cliff Castle - Once the Borati Manor, it is now the home of Chanton.
Ironridge - A group of small mountains rich in iron, west of the Shir. A trade route runs through them.
Lindin - A small town north of the Shir.
Tismae - A small town east of the Shir.
Kindoth - A small town west of the Ironridge.
The Lovely Doves - a brothel.
The Silver Skein - a tavern.
