Lessons in Wisdom
I'm confused about where to turn
Which lessons in that I learn
I'm never to old for guidance
We're never to young to leave it behind us
In life I wish I had maps
So I could avoid pitfalls and traps
But these are what educate
Even though our peace they decimate
So it's a bitter give and take
Across the coals, I'm raked
Then giving salve for my burn
I guess another lesson to learn
Stored up for wisdom in life
I just wish it had a lighter price
As sad and bitter as I sound
I keep my feet planted on the ground
Someone's hand will guide me through
As I would do the same for you
Don't ever decide to wander alone
Or forever you'll have no home
