Violent Video Games

DigitalViolence.org is based on my original research paper, Digital Violence, written way back in 2002 as a college English paper. At the time I never publicly released it.

Recently the topic of video games and their effects has become a hot topic. And video games have received the blame for a myriad of social problems. Its such an inflammatory topic and has drawn so much attention that politicians are now trying to step in to address what they see as “the problem”. However, they are missing the point.
What people see is a raise in the level of violence among young people. Young people play video games and sometimes “violent” ones! Hence, the two become linked in peoples minds.

The purpose of digitalviolence.org is to examine the issues of violent video games and youth violence in a public forum and basically open this whole topic up for debate.
