South Carolina.

 

            The declaration of Robert Mursh a Native

off Virginia and one of the Pamunky tribe of

Indians, and now a citizen of & resident in York

District in the State of South Carolina made in

persuance of the provisions of the Act of Congrys

of the 18th March 1818 entitled “Act acts to provide for

certain persons engaged in the land & Naval Service

Of the United States in the Revolutionary War.”

 

            The declaration saith that he enlisted as a common

Soldier in the army of the United States in the War

Of the Revolution in the latter part of the year 1776

and in the Early part of the year following he

joined the 15th Virginia Reg. 6 of Continental troops

Col. Mason attached to a company commanded

by Capt James Gray at Wallenup brough & shortly after

formed this main party at Meadowbrook in New Jersey.

That shortly after he joined the Reg. 6

the command of it devolved on Col. James Ennis

and under his command he fought at the battle

of Brandywine & Germantown in the Brigade

Command by Gen. Woodford, -the _______

further saith that having served in this Regiment

for something more than two years he reinlisted

in the Continental army in the service of the

United States during the war:  and was attached

to a Regiment from out of the remnants of the

7 & 15th. Commanded by Col. Aupal Leut Col.

Benj. Ball denominated the ___ Reg of the
