Virginia Continental line, Capt. William Mosely
and that with this Regiment he marched to Charleston
where he remained until that place was surrendered
to the British and was among the prisoners of war
and remained in that situation about fourteen
months when he was carried to Jamestown and
discharged and then joined a Regiment Command
by Col. Phibecca. Capt. Kirkpatrick the number of
which Regiments is not now recollected. In command
of this Regiment was afterward assigned to Col. Posey,
and with this Reg. he marched to Ebenezer in Georgia
where they joined the army of Gen. Wayne, and
that he continued with this army until after the
place where he was regularly discharged
from the service and that this discharge was
delivered at the land office on obtaining his
Military Warrants of his bounty of land, so that
he has it not now to exhibit.
The declaration further saith, that he is now about
sixty years of age, he has record continually from his
birth of the present day in the United States, that
he is poor and feebly and in consequence of his
reduced circumstances stands in need of the assistance
of his country for support.
