York District } On this 17th day of September
1845 personally appeared before
M.J. Hall—one of the acting Justices of the
peace for York District, South Carolina. Elizabeth
Mursh, a resident of York District in South Carolina
aged 78 years, who being first duly sworn according
to law, doth on her oath make the following Declaration
in order to obtain the benefits of the provision made by
the Act of Congrys passed July 7 1838 and 3rd March
1873 and 17 June 1844: - the Act of 1838, entitled “An Act
Granting Half Pay And Pensions To Certain Widows”: that
she is the Widow of Robert Mursh, who was a Private
of the Virginia Line, in the War of Revolution and as such he
served the United States against the Common enemy, and was
allowed a Pension at the rate of ninety six dollars per
annum and was enscribed on the South Carolina Agency.
--She further declares that she was married to the said
Robert Mursh sometime in the year 1783: and that her
husband the aforesaid, Robert Mursh: Died on the 7th
day of December 1837: that she was not married to
him prior to his leaving the service: but the marriage took
place previous to the first of January 1794: Viz at the time
above stated: Sworn to and subscribed on the day and
year above written; before—
