South Carolina }
York District } Be it known that before me, Joshua P.
Smith, a Justice of the Peace in and for
the District aforesaid, personally appeared Elizabeth
Mursh, and made oath in due form of Law, that she is
the widow of Robert Mursh, who was a Revolutionary
Pensioner of the United States on the Charleston Roll
and that said Robert Mursh departed this life on
the Seventh day of December One Thousand Eight
Hundred and Thirty Seven, and that she Elizabeth
Mursh was Lawfully married to the said Robert
Mursh, by Jack Mills, pastor of the Baptist Church
in King William, State of Virginia on or about the
Seventh day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred
and Eighty Three, as will more fully appear by the
record of the age of her oldest daughter Kitty: who
was born August the Sixteenth day One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Eighty Four, there being no record
of their marriage found, but states to the best of her
recollection, and that they continued as man and
wife until the time of his death, and that she
now resides in the State, and District as above stated
and has for the last thirty years: therefore she claims
such pension under government, as by law prov-
ided (in such cases made) for the benefit of surviving
Widows of deceased pensioners: as well the balance
due to her husband from the Fourth of September
One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Seven until
the time of his death.
