As I was on an organised trip, it the shipping was not an aspect of it, so when I was travelling to Niagara, from Toronto, I was surprised to come to this place where I could see ships-this image was basically 'snap it-and work them out later'
First I could only see 2 vessels, then when I went through my images I discovered the third grey vessel!
They are from left to right:
Mckee Sons, and tug Invincible.
The
Mckee Sons was built in 1945, as a US Transport, the Marine Angel. She was later coverted for Great Lakes work, and finally her stern section was cut out and became a barge. The tug with her was the Invincible.-more info required on these 2.
Canadian Navigator
A sister to the Canadian Prospector also seen in Hamilton. Built 1967, at South Shields as Demeterton for Chapman and Whillan. After a lengthening in Amsterdam in 1968, she became St. Lawrence Navigator in 1975, then in 1979 after a rebuild renamed Canadian Navigator.
Montrealais  (I think)-can anyone confirm?
Built 1962 as Montrealer by Canadian Vickers. With a typical length of 222m, she is 17,647 grt and later became Montrealais under Upper Lakes Group.
