While on the way to Niagara from Toronto, the highway passed Hamilton, Ontario. Here to my surprise was a laker which looks very obvious she was previous a ocean going vessel (salty)-my research backed this up. Built at Sunderland in 1964 as Carlton for Chapman and Willan Ltd. Lengthened in 1968 in Holland, she was sold in 1974 to Federal, renaming in 1975 Federal Wear, and then to St. Lawrence Prospector operated by Upper Lakes, being rebuilt again in 1979, now 222m in length. After this rebuild she was renamed Canadian Prospector. |
