The Sour Sitrus Society, a student run organizationat Syracuse University needed help with its personnel management functions. As a project for IST 659, a group of students designed and implemented a database to facilitate the management of band member and instrument information.
The database consists of several tables, queries and reports designed to simplify the tracking of members of the band, the instruments they use and their participation at group events. This document describes the existing problems identified by the project team and the database designed to resolve the current issues.
At this time, the database is not fully implemented. The database completion date coincided with the end of the fall semester and the beginning of the basketball performance season. The primary user of the database was unavailable to learn how to use the database. It is hoped that the secretary will be available during the semester break to complete the full implementation of the database.
