NOTRE DAME

LIAM: Walked to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Another crisp morning in Paris... Reached the cathedral and viewed its magnificent architecture. As a fine piece of ancestry, it was certainly second to none... Isn't it amazing that 1 900-year-old structure can stand the test of time? Notre Dame started construction in 1163. It survived revolution, plague, wars, fires (massive fire in the interior in 1800s).
We visited Notre Dame on the last day of our trip. Like Rue Montmatre, it brought back memories of past trips to Paris. It was chilly, but the sun came out every now and then to warm the tips of my ears which had turned blue (at least I believed so) in the biting cold. We caught the train back to London after lunch, a little sad to leave, but delighted with our brief Parisien encounter!
