THE LAKE DISTRICT |
Note: We spent the 2nd night in Shrewsbury (which neither of us liked particularly). Shrewsbury was confusing and very urban. Liam had never been there before, but I had, on a geography trip in junior college. I cannot remember liking it very much then either. We moved on very quickly the next day - to the Lake District. |

The views were amazing when we got to the Lake District. The lush green fields, and the pretty stone walls... Unfortunately, we do not have pictures of the lakes - the boardwalks were far too crowded because it was summer and warm. |

We stayed on a farm in the Lake District, between Windermere and Kendal on the 3rd night of the trip. We went to sleep to the moos of the calves and cows. Of course, we had fresh milk with our breakfast. |

Before we settled into our cosy little farm room for the night we took a walk in a small village called Burneside. It boasts nature paths (like the one I was on in the picture below, right), its own little parish church (which, apparently, is quite ancient), and, like all English villages, a village pub. |
