Faith

"When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing one of two things will happen:  There will be something solid to stand on or you will be tought how to fly."     (Barbara J. Winter)

Every day is a step into the unknown, a walk into the darkness.  We experience trials and tests of our strength.  We are forced to the edge and our faith is put to the test.  Can we walk on water?  Can we fly from the edge of a cliff?  Can we soar beyond all of our troubles?

"All things are possible for those who believe."  (Mark 9:23)

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Read Hebrews ch. 11).  My faith has been torn and mended.  I have lost my faith in mankind and, at one time, even lost my faith in God.  Yet, it has all been returned to me.  I have fallen, I have cried, I have screamed, and I have almost died.  I have lost everything, even my intangable innocence, yet if I believe I can go on, then I will go on.  If I believe I can go on, then I am already going on.  All that I have hoped for still exists, though it's not always seen.  I believe in God.  I have faith in what I can not directly see but can feel in my heart.  I have faith in Love.  I can not see the wind, yet I know it's there because I can feel it.  The trees, the water, and all the earth moves under the breath of God.

By faith, we find that we are already walking on the water.  We have already flown from the edge of a cliff.  We have already soared beyond all our troubles by believing that those troubles are not obsticals but are higher points to jump off and truelly soar.

"Have faith in God.  I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have recieved it and it will be yours."  (Mark 11:22-24)
