The Oppression That Is Suppression

In our progressive society, we have come to accept a new classification of people. They are independent of race, age, religion, and all else physical (or so we are told). They are the "Gay, Bi and Transgendered Americans." Homosexuality is seen as a unique lifestyle. It's hard to imagine a society as open to male-male love as we are today. Yet, as liberal as we are, we haven't made "progress" in terms of biological human sexuality. We've just tried to contain something that we don't understand.

To see what I mean, let's go back to the dawn of Caucasian society. After all, the majority of people labeling themselves as "gay, bi or transgendered" are white. And since the majority of same gender relationships are male-male, let's focus on that. In Greece, it was common place for men to seek the company of teenage males, usually around the age of 12 or 13. In those days, many were called apprentices. As later, in Roman times, their relationships were often more faithful than those involving females. As recent as the nineteenth century, caucasian men still sought out the company of teenage males, often calling them "wards" in Europe. It was almost taken for granted, as it was such a traditional part of Caucasian life. That is, until the "Women's Liberation Movement".

Now, with the social domination of a new gender (specifically the domination of "Soccer Moms"), naturally along comes new views on sexuality, parenting, and children. Thus caucasian society began to reform. To see how this effected life, let's take the case of Bob Kane, the creator of the popular comic book series "Batman". When he introduced the character of Dick Grayson (who became "Robin") in the early 1940s, once loyal fans became outraged with what was bitterly referred to as "a homosexual relationship" between the middle aged bachelor Bruce Wane and the thirteen year old acrobat whom he took in as his ward. Today, conformist homosexuality has become socially accepted. However, this form of male-male relationships is limited to males over the legal age of eighteen, or older if they look at all youthful. The historically accepted version is now considered something socially appalling.

Thus, in a repressed society posing as a free one, many caucasian men who eagerly label themselves as "straight", having a healthy attraction to young females deny themselves the reality of the sexual tension that exists between themselves and young males. Most dismiss it as "fathering feelings" or just feel awkward. Because of the high levels of estrogen present in caucasian boys, the surge of testosterone during the onset of puberty creates the most chaotic and intense hormone levels of any other human race. It also may be that bisexuality is actually the norm, homosexuality being a natural part of caucasian biology. Unless caucasian genes enter the picture somewhere along the line, it is rare for races such as blacks, hispanics, asians, or others to seek out young males in the ways caucasians have throughout history. The lighter the skin, hair, and eyes, the more "perverse" (i.e., diverse attractions) a person is, whether male or female, whether young or old. It's easy to understand why caucasian men would reject their own homosexual biology when society mutates it into the form of two hairy, sweaty men sleeping around and practicing S&M. This is also why teenage males still fear the concept of male-male relationships unless they have a high sex drive (the higher the sex drive, the lower the standards). Even in a "diverse society", there is conformity; there is oppression. The most common form of homosexuality is still the most socially rejected. That doesn't change biology, not of men drawn to apprentices, nor of young men drawn to mentors. But, can psychology overcome biology? We shall see.
