Scarlet is beautifully balanced, feminine, has good angulation with no exaggeration, and lovely movement.  She has a beautiful outline, and just flows.  We are very proud of our first homebred girl.  She is everything we want in a Whippet, and is true to the Breed Standard. 
2000
Scarlet won 7 Best Puppy in Breed, with a Best Puppy In Show at an All Breeds Ch. Show, three Puppy Grp 1st, Two Grp 2nd and a Grp 3.   (Group 1st under Mr F Kane (UK), Ms P Smith (Aust) and Mr M Simpson (SA)).    In Oct 2000 she won the Kennel Union of South Africa National Puppy 2000 Hound Grp. 2001
In 2001 Scarlet won her Championship qualifying CC under Mr J Thompson (Aust) in April.  She took another 3 CC's under Mr T Horchner (Aust), Roy Metcalfe (UK), and Mrs K Eldred (Aust), the latter two CC's  being 2 pointers.  Mrs Eldred then put Scarlet BOB from the Open Class and then Grp 4 under strong competition.  What a thrill for us.   In November 2001, at the KUSA (Kennel Union of SA) National Awards, Scarlet won Reserve KUSA National Whippet for 2001.
Scarlet notched up 13 CC's, 12 RCC's and a number of RBOB and BOB's while being shown in 2000/01.
2002
At Scarlet's first show of the season, and also her first time in the Champions class, she took BOB and Grp 2 (BOB under Jill Peak, UK and Grp 2 Mr R McMurray - Can).  The following day she again took BOB, and then Grp 3 under Mr Kearley, Can.  What a weekend.  On 27 April Scarlet took BOB and Grp2, this time under Mrs Gwen Johnstone, NZ.  This was a wonderful win as we will be emigrating to New Zealand at the end of 2002, and it is great winning under one of their respected judges. 
2003/2004 - NEW ZEALAND
Starting from scratch again in a New Country.  The Whippets came out of quarantine on 15 Feb 2003 and we started showing in March.  Scarlet attained her Championship in October 2004 (at the age of 5 yrs) and is now retired to the whelping box (and couch of course).  Along the way she notched up 2 Open in Grp, Reserve of Group & 6 BOB's.  A highlight being a Reserve In Grp and Best Open in Grp at Manawatu Ch Show 26 Oct 2003 under Gerard Robinson (South Africa).  Another being a Challenge & RBOB from Gwen Johnston (NZ), who loved Scarlet in South Africa, and was true to her type in NZ.
