CH COTTONCOVE SEA BREEZE OF SMITHVALE
"SANDY"
6 NOVEMBER 1994
It all started with Sandy - our first whippet.  She is a very precious little girl.  She is like a little toy.  You wind her up and she runs around the garden bum-tucking all the way, with the cutest expression on her face.  You could just eat her up.  She stares as you with those beautiful big dark eyes, and she simply loves the bed.  She will slob in the bed from 9pm to 9am given half the chance.  She is a real bedbug.

We chose Sandy at about 2 weeks of age just because she had little frown lines on her face.  We didnt really want a solid brindle Whippet (as they are not as flashy in the showring as the parti-colours), but the litter only had one parti bitch who was already spoken for.  So we took Sandy and have never looked back.  She is simply the best!!  What she lacks in showiness, she makes up in personality.  Brindles are also a lot easier to prepare for a show, just quick spit and polish.

I learned to show Whippets handling Sandy.  My mother-in-law and mentor, Rosemary, taught me all I know today about Whippets and showing.  She handled Blue for me in the beginning while I trained with Sandy.  It was a good experience and then at least Blue was shown to her fullest.  I then took over with Blue and Sandy was taken out of the ring until Blue became a Champion.  Sandy was made into a Champion with me showing her all the way.  That was a very happy day.  Most of the judges commented on her beautiful expression.  She is adorable (that word totally sums her up).  She had some lovely CC wins under
Mrs J Severn - UK, Mr Moore - Australia, and a RCC under Mr Nev Newton - Nevedith Whippets UK.

Sandy is now the resident couch and bed potato.  She is very gentle and loving.  She snuggles into you in the bed, shares your pillow, and never kicks you out of the bed unlike a number of other dogs we know.
How could anyone resist this cutey?
