I hope that you all had an excellent Xmas, and that 2003 brings us all good health and much happiness. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and THANK YOU to the following members for their donations to the Chapter. Mr. & Mrs S. Abels, Mr. & Mrs Ed Cross, Gordon & Elaine Jackson, Paul & Pat Melhus, Rene Bradley,  &  Craig Kent. Without your generous support we would not be able to keep functioning in the manner that we have been used to.
You may notice some changes on the front page of this news letter under the Board of Directors column. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, Ken has found it necessary to resign from his position as Vice Chairman, although he will continue to support the Chapter in whatever way he can. Ken has been an integral part of our Chapter for many years now, and Im sure I speak for you all when I say that we will miss him at the executive level. I wish both Ken and his wife Penny much success in their efforts on behalf of UOAC.
We now have TWO (2) vacant positions (Vice Chairman & Fundraising Coordinator) both of which are integral to the well being of the Chapter. I would hope that you would all give it some serious thought over the next few months and perhaps see your way clear to stepping up and volunteering for one of them. Without a fully functioning executive, the work load gets pretty heavy for those who are still involved. Remember, this is YOUR Chapter, and without a fully functioning executive it may not exist for very long.
This years Annual National Conference is taking place in Saskatoon from August 14th to 16th. Pat McGrath is looking for anyone who is interested in going to the Conference and possibly Car pooling or going as a group  If anyone is interested in talking to Pat about his ideas, please contact him at 604-461-7577 or email at [email protected]
Our January meeting will once again be held at  Jessoma Farms, 21488 76th Ave., Langley. For those of you who still have the October issue of our Newsletter with the directions to the farm on it, ONE CORRECTION. You turn LEFT on 80th off of 200th and not RIGHT as stated. Sorry about that. The meeting will be in the form of a Product Fair with various manufactures and suppliers participating. You dont want to miss this one as this type of thing only happens at conferences.
In closing, I would just like to wish all of you the very best of health and happiness for the year 2003, and hope to see you all on Sunday, January 19th, at the Farm.
