Terror Ship
Page 26
Harley folds her arms across her chest and glares at Margo.

                                                                                HARLEY
Four hundred and twenty people were murdered last night.  How can you be
                                        thinking about that proposal?

                                                                                MARGO
                                                                                (groans)
Harley, this is business.  Taylor Underwood has no reservations about conducting
business after what he's been through.  You can take off until tomorrow evening.
That should give you time to rest.  You look exhausted.

Harley's arms drop to her side as she stares at Margo with shock and loath.

                                                                                HARLEY
                                        You heartless bitch--

Margo looks to Harley with surprise and slowly stands.

                                                                                MARGO
                                        Excuse me?

                                                                                HARLEY
No, there is no excuse for you.
                                                                                (pause)
I went through six hours of complete hell last night.  I stood in rooms filled
with dead men and woman.  I was shot at, guns aimed at my head, and stood
a foot from a bomb only twenty minutes short of killing us all.
                                                                                (low)
I shot a man dead just six inches from me.
                                                                                (pause)
My friends risked their lives to save the lives of over five hundred men and
women they didn't even know when they just as easily could have hid.

Margo stares at Harley with astonishment.

                                                                                HARLEY
They you come along with your petty business deals--as if it holds the same priority.
                                                                                (pause)
Well, let me tell you, it doesn't compare.  It holds no importance whatsoever.
And I'm insulted and offended that you can wave off the lives of four hundred and
                                        twenty people.
                                                                                (pause)
As far as I'm concerned, you can take that pervert Taylor Underwood, your proposal,
and my job and shove them!

Margo attempts to compose herself and heads for the door.  She pauses near the door and turns to face Harley.

                                                                                MARGO
I know you've suffered a trauma, Harley, but I have no choice but to let you go.

                                                                                HARLEY
                                                                                (snorts a laugh)
Do you really think I care?

                                                                                MARGO
                                        In a couple of days--

Damon appears from the bedroom only in his boxer shorts and casually leans in the doorframe while glaring at Margo.  Margo looks to Damon, appears surprised, then looks back to Harley.

                                                                                MARGO
Not so traumatized to carry on an affair, I see.

                                                                                DAMON
You must be the two-faced, back stabbing Margo Merryweather I've heard so
                                        much about.

                                                                                MARGO
My, you two must have had plenty of time to gossip during your ordeal.

                                                                                DAMON
Actually, Harley never mentioned you.  That comment came straight from my
                                        employer, Taylor Underwood.
