You're just a sore loser.
KOON
No, you're the loser.
Koon holds out his hand. The contract appears in it. He points to one paragraph. A sentence is immediately highlighted.
KOON
Right here. "Through the temple door". You didn't complete the task. You lose.
REGGIE
You cheat. The task was to retrieve the dagger and return it to the library. I did that.
KOON
The contract is the contract.
Reggie sneers at him, removes her copy of the contract from her pocket, and shakes it straight.
REGGIE
Is that so?
Koon firmly nods. Reggie holds up her copy of the contract.
REGGIE
Then allow me to draw your attention to paragraph four, addendum two.
KOON
Addendum?
REGGIE
So long as the dagger is returned in said allotted time frame, any means necessary shall be
considered binding.
Reggie eyes him and raises a brow. Koon looks to his contract and appears stunned. He suddenly makes a face and glares at her.
KOON
You added that yourself.
REGGIE
(firm)
And you initialed the change, thereby agreeing to it.
Koon appears speechless. His looks turns harsh.
KOON
If you want to play that way, we're both in violation of the contract. That voids the contract.
Your brother stays right where he is.
(pause)
As for you, you're not going anywhere until I figure out what I'm going to do with you.
Koon flicks his finger at her. Reggie suddenly vanishes.
INT. GUEST CHAMBER
We see the medieval looking bedroom with antique, Victorian decor. Reggie paces the bedroom and appears concerned. There's a faint knock on the door. Reggie spins toward the door and attempts a calm, collected attitude.
REGGIE
Come in.
The door opens to reveal a docile looking, older man. He's Belamy.
BELAMY
Good evening, Madam. You're presence is requested for dinner in the dining room.
REGGIE
Thanks, but no.
BELAMY
Begging your pardon, Madam, but I added the request part. You may not refuse. He'll just
bring you there on his own.
Reggie frowns with annoyance.
REGGIE
I knew it couldn't be that easy.
BELAMY
Your evening attire is hanging in the closet. I'll return in twenty minutes to escort you to
dinner. The others should be arriving shortly.
REGGIE
Others?
